Professor and Medical Student From Pune Among 25 Dead In Bus Accident On Samruddhi Expressway
Pune 1st July 2023: Three members of a family from Ambegaon taluka of Pune were among the 25 people that have died in a tragic accident reported on Samruddhi Expressway in the wee hours on Saturday. Professor Kailas Gangawane (48), his wife Kanchan Gangawane (38) and daughter Sai Gangawane (21) were returning from Nagpur in the bus that caught fire.
Gangawane had gone to Nagpur to drop his son who was admitted to a college for law studies there. A professor by profession Gangawane was a resident of Nirgudsar village of Ambegaon. His daughter Sai Gangawane who also died in the incident was a medical student.
Soon after the news of their death reached their village, the relatives and villagers in a shock. According to reports, the family was unaware of the accident till late morning.
It may be noted that 25 people have lost their lives and 8 others have sustained injured including 3 who are critical in the incident. A tourist bus caught fire after it hit the divider due to a tyre burst on Samruddhi Expressway earlier today.
