Central Govt Yet To Give Consent To Transfer Raj Bhavan Land To PMRDA For Metro Work
Pune 14th July 2023: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is awaiting consent from the central government to transfer 263.78 sqm land of Raj Bhavan for the Shivajinagar-Hinhewadi Metro line. The officials of the PMRDA have been in touch with the central government to get a land at Raj Bhavan to construct a Metro Station.
According to reports, the matter is now pending with the ministry of housing and and urban affairs for final approval and the PMRDA is likely to get the permission by end of this month. Since Raj Bhavan is a sensitive place, the officials of PMRDA and government held talks over security concerns.
The land is important for the progress of Pune Metro’s elevated stretch between Shivajinagar and Hinjewadi as the official deadline to complete the work at 23 km long stretch is April 2025. PMRDA is working on the elevated stretch on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model while the other Metro lines in the city are being developed by Maha Metro.
