8th All India Inter-Regional Athletics Meet 2023-24 Kicks Off in Pune, Hosted by Airports Authority of India
Pune, 28th September 2023: The 8th All India Inter-Regional Athletics Meet for the year 2023-24 commenced today at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) grounds.
The event was inaugurated by a distinguished panel that included JT Radhakrishna, Executive Director of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Western Region; special guest Suresh Gosavi, Vice Chancellor of SPPU; chief guest and national cross-country player Vasant Avadhoot Gokhale; and Airport Director Santosh Dhoke.
The athletics meet, organized by the Airports Authority of India, is set to run for three days and will feature athletes from various AAI zones across the country. The event aims to foster sportsmanship and talent among the participants, providing them with a platform to showcase their athletic prowess.
Present at the inauguration were Secretary of the Regional Sports Control Board, DK Sinha, along with General Manager Gagan Malik, Manoj Chansuriya, and Maya Lavania. Members of the Regional and Sports Committee of Pune Airport were also in attendance.
The event is expected to be a significant gathering of athletic talent, with various competitions scheduled over the course of the three days. It serves as an opportunity for athletes to not only compete at a high level but also to interact and learn from their peers from different regions.
