Orxa Energies Unveils Mantis: Sporty Electric Marvel in India
Pune, 22 November 2023: Orxa Energies has recently unveiled its latest innovation, the Mantis electric motorcycle, marking its entry into the Indian market. Initially launched in Bengaluru, the company has strategic plans to progressively introduce the Mantis to other cities. The bike, priced at Rs 3.60 lakh ex-showroom Bengaluru, boasts a striking sporty design and exceptional features, making it a noteworthy addition to the electric motorcycle segment.
The Orxa Mantis stands out with its sporty state naked design, reminiscent of models like the KTM 390 Duke and Apache RTR 310. Featuring an aggressive face adorned with dual projector headlights and angular panels, the motorcycle includes a unique tank design with an integrated charging point. The bike’s aesthetics are complemented by a split seat adjustment, tapered tail area, and two color options—Urban Black and Jungle Grey. Operated by Ride by Wire, the fully digital instrument cluster incorporates various facilities, including mobile connectivity and navigation system technology.
With an aluminum alloy chassis, the Mantis is equipped with an 8.9-kilowatt battery pack powering an electric motor that generates 27 bhp and 93 Nm of torque. Weighing 182 kg, the motorcycle claims a top speed of 135 kilometers per hour and an acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.5 seconds. Notably, it stands as India’s first high-tech electric bike with a liquid cold engine.
Orxa promises a substantial range of 221 kilometers on a single charge, and the motorcycle supports fast charging. The company plans to set up over 100 fast charging stations along major highways in India. Charging the Mantis from 0 to 80% takes 5 hours with a 1.3 kW charge, while the Blitz 3.3 kW fast charging option achieves a full charge in just 2.5 hours. The Mantis faces competition from the Ultraviolette F77, another player in the Indian electric motorcycle market. Interested buyers can secure their Mantis with an online booking of ₹25,000, with exclusive pricing for the first 1000 customers at Rs 10,000, and deliveries are scheduled to commence in April next year.
