Chinchwad, 30th November 2023: In a proactive move to address vehicle theft and the use of fake number plates in Pimpri-Chinchwad City, the Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic branch has initiated a comprehensive vehicle inspection program. The initiative, implemented through the blockade app under the e-challan system, aims to prevent and trace incidents related to unauthorized vehicles.

Given the significant influx of citizens from abroad and various districts of Maharashtra seeking employment in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the city has experienced a surge in the use of vehicles, particularly two-wheelers. Recognizing the need for heightened vigilance, the traffic branch has formed 20 teams to conduct vehicle inspections across various locations in the city.

These teams, comprising two police officers each, are strategically deployed in 14 traffic divisions and six teams from the Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic control room. Their focus areas include railway stations, bus stands, shopping malls, schools, under flyover parking, society parking, and areas with abandoned vehicles. The teams aim to detect and prevent incidents related to vehicle theft and the use of fake number plates.

This proactive approach aligns with the vision of Commissioner of Police Vinaykumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Bapu Bangar. The collaborative efforts of all police officers of the Traffic Branch and enforcers are instrumental in the successful launch of the “Vehicle Inspection Activity” starting from December 1, 2023.
