Pune, 10th February 2024: Residents in several areas near Dhanori experienced an unexpected power outage this evening, affecting normal activities and causing inconvenience.

An official from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) provided details on the situation, stating, “Electricity has been restored to most parts, except for a specific section in the Kalwad area near Dhanori. The disruption was a result of road digging work undertaken by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Our teams are diligently working to rectify the issue, but we anticipate it will take an additional two hours for complete restoration.”

The power outage was initially reported at 5 pm today, and the delay in resolving the issue is attributed to the damage caused to a major wire in the affected location.

Senior officials from MSEDCL emphasized that the PMC does not require their permission for conducting various types of work. However, they highlighted the importance of seeking permissions from MSEDCL when any activity involves electricity-related infrastructure.
