Alandi, 25th July 2024: A father and son duo from Haridwar, who came to Pune for cancer treatment, faced a harrowing experience when their four-wheeler was swept away in Alandi by a stream meeting the Indrayani River due to heavy rains. They were inside the car when it started happening, but a social worker from Charholi, Yogesh Bhosale, quickly came to their rescue. His quick thinking is being appreciated everywhere.

Rajesh Kohli, who has cancer, and his son Tushar Kohli came from Haridwar to the Indrayani Hospital and Cancer Institute in Alandi for treatment. They were travelling on DY Patil Road in Alandi when a stream that joins the Indrayani River suddenly overflowed due to heavy rains, causing their car to get stuck and start floating away. While a crowd watched nearby, nobody went near the car.

Fortunately, the Kohli duo’s car got stuck on a bridge pole that was submerged underwater, giving Bhosale some time. Bhosale rushed through the stream, reached the car, and rescued the duo. He even hosted them at his home afterwards. Following this incident, the road was closed to all traffic.
