Viman Nagar, 31st October 2024: Air traffic at Pune International Airport has been disrupted in recent days due to bomb threats reported on both domestic and international flights, with much of the panic fueled by social media. An unknown individual using the X (formerly Twitter) handle “Adam Alanja 646” claimed that a bomb was on board Vistara Airlines flight number UK 991 from New Delhi to Pune, causing chaos and panic at the airport.

After an investigation, authorities confirmed that the threat was a hoax. In response, Vijay Ganpat Nanekar, a 35-year-old resident of Tingre Nagar, filed a complaint against the unidentified Twitter user at the Airport Police Station. The individual had tweeted, “I placed pipe bombs on board the following flights UK,” creating widespread fear among passengers and those in the airport vicinity. This false information endangered the safety and well-being of everyone present. Assistant Police Inspector N. Dhamane from the Airport Police Station is leading the investigation into the matter.
