District Collector Reviews Planning for Vijaystambh Tribute Program at Perne Phata

Pune, 27th November 2024: Preparations for the Vijaystambh Tribute Program, set to take place on 1st January 2025 at Perne Phata, are in full swing. District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has emphasised meticulous planning to ensure a peaceful and well-coordinated event. During a review meeting at the District Collector’s office, Dr. Diwase directed all relevant departments to focus on arrangements for the attendees and ensure that the program is conducted smoothly.

The collector stressed the need for proper traffic management, parking facilities, sanitation, and the provision of drinking water. He instructed the authorities to ensure an adequate supply of water through tankers and to maintain cleanliness at the venue. To handle the expected influx of attendees, public transport services provided by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will be increased on 31st December 2024 and 1st January 2025, with necessary fuel supply arrangements in place.

The Police Department has been tasked with ensuring effective traffic regulation and maintaining law and order during the event. The Public Works Department and the Zilla Parishad’s construction division have been instructed to repair roads leading to the venue to facilitate seamless access for the participants. Dr. Diwase also highlighted the importance of increasing the deployment of medical staff and ambulances to handle potential emergencies.

A control room will be established at the venue to oversee operations and coordinate efforts. The collector urged all officials to conduct site inspections to ensure every aspect of the program is addressed. During the meeting, Police Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma emphasised finalising the number of book stalls for the event and requested BARTI (Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute) to submit a list of dignitaries attending.

Zilla Parishad CEO Santosh Patil pointed out the need for additional temporary toilets and assured that these facilities would be properly maintained. He confirmed that all tasks assigned to the Zilla Parishad would be completed within the set timeframe.

Discussions during the meeting also touched upon beautification and lighting arrangements at Vijaystambh, the installation of stalls and pavilions, traffic flow management, waste disposal, deployment of fire emergency vehicles, disaster management measures, and the provision of electricity and drinking water. A special care area for women, known as Hirkani Kendra, will also be established at the venue.

Senior officials, including Deputy Police Commissioners Himmat Jadhav and Sandip Doiphode, Assistant Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopde, and representatives from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), attended the meeting.
