Pimpri Chinchwad: Elder Brother’s Scooter Hits Speed Breaker, Teen Loses Life in Nigdi

Nigdi, 1st December 2024: A tragic accident claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, Krishna Ramasare Gupta, in Pradhikaran on Wednesday afternoon. Krishna, a Standard X student from Chikhali, was riding pillion on a scooter driven by his elder brother, Suraj Gupta (20), when the vehicle hit a speed breaker, causing him to fall and sustain fatal injuries.

The incident occurred around 1 pm as the brothers were traveling from Big India Chowk toward Bhel Chowk.

Sub-inspector Mahesh Satpute of the Nigdi police station explained, “The brothers had come to the Pradhikaran area to play a sport and were on their way back to Chikhali when the accident happened. The scooter jumped over a speed breaker, leading Krishna to fall off. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.”

Addressing concerns about the speed breaker, Satpute clarified, “The speed breaker was properly constructed. It appears the rider failed to notice it and drove over it negligently, which led to the mishap.”

Further investigation into the accident is underway.
