Leopard Killed in Collision with Speeding Vehicle on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Lonavala, 18th December 2024: A leopard was killed in a collision with a speeding vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway last night. The leopard, a full-grown adult, was struck around 11:30 PM in the Vadgaon Maval area near Lonavala. The animal died on the spot. The driver fled the scene after the accident.

Upon receiving information about the incident, officials from the Highway Traffic Police and the Maharashtra Forest Department visited the site. The Forest Department took custody of the deceased leopard. A case has been filed against the unknown driver at the Vadgaon Maval Police Station.
