Salisbury Park, 21st December 2024: An incident of theft occurred in a society in the Salisbury Park area of Pune, where thieves stole 50 tolas of gold jewellery, diamond jewellery, and silver ornaments by unlocking a cupboard using a key. A 57-year-old woman has filed a complaint at the Swargate Police Station. Based on her complaint, a case has been registered against the thieves.

Her husband works as an accountant in a private company in the Pune Camp area. Their son is a tax consultant, and their daughter runs a school. According to her complaint, 22 tolas of gold ornaments were given to her by her parents during her marriage, while eight tolas were gifted by her in-laws.

On 18th December, her husband left for work in the morning, forgetting his flat key at home. The complainant then placed the key in the shoe rack outside their apartment. Later, she and her daughter went to Mukund Nagar for some work. She informed her husband over the phone that the key was in the shoe rack. Upon returning home at around 3 PM, she and her daughter retrieved the key and entered the flat, only to discover that the cupboard in the bedroom had been broken into and gold and silver jewellery stolen.

She immediately informed her husband about the incident. CCTV footage captured a burglar entering the flat, showing clear evidence of the crime. The broad daylight theft of jewellery worth 50 tolas has caused panic in the area. Residents have demanded swift action to apprehend the burglars, especially given previous burglary incidents in Salisbury Park.

Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre, in charge of Swargate Police Station, visited the crime scene, and Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Kaspate is currently investigating the case.
