Kalyani Nagar, 23rd January 2025: Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has taken note of a complaint regarding improper stamp duty payment on a redevelopment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar.

The case involves Princeton Town Co-op Housing Society, where some members opposed the redevelopment agreement with a developer. Satish Surana filed a complaint on 18th December with Joint Sub-Registrar and District Stamp Collector Santosh Hingane, alleging the MoU was signed without paying appropriate fees.

Hingane issued two notices, on 23rd December and 15th January, seeking clarifications from the parties involved. The second notice was personally delivered to the builder’s office by Sub-District Registrar Mangesh Khamkar, giving a 7-day deadline to provide the original agreement.

Bawankule stated that if the original document is not received within seven days, authorities will assume the developer has no objections to the photocopy’s authenticity. The stamp duty determination and potential recovery proceedings will then be based on this copy.
