Pimpri, 5th March 2025: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) spokesperson Bala Nandgaonkar criticized Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi for his controversial remarks about Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, stating that Azmi frequently makes such statements to gain attention.

“Abu Azmi has a habit of making controversial remarks just to stay relevant. He tries to position himself as the face of the Muslim community, and everyone knows it. Unless strict action is taken against him, he won’t stop,” Nandgaonkar said while addressing the media in Pimpri Chinchwad today.

Nandgaonkar was accompanied by MNS Pimpri Chinchwad City President Sachin Chikhale and other party office bearers ahead of MNS Chief Raj Thackeray’s scheduled visit to the city to meet with party workers.

Marathi Signboard Issue
Touching upon the ongoing Marathi signboard issue, Nandgaonkar expressed frustration over the lack of enforcement of rules mandating their installation in Maharashtra. “It is unfortunate that we have to protest for Marathi signboards in a Marathi-speaking state. The rule has been made, but it is still not being implemented. Shouldn’t we enforce it? Just give MNS a chance, and you will see the difference,” he asserted.

Criticism of Kalyan Police Incident
Nandgaonkar also condemned a recent incident involving Kalyan Police allegedly assaulting a Marathi man, calling for the Maharashtra government to take decisive action. “When MNS takes a stand, we are labeled as ‘gundas.’ But what about when the government fails to act? The state must take serious action against such incidents,” he emphasized.

With Raj Thackeray’s visit to Pimpri Chinchwad on the horizon, Nandgaonkar’s remarks indicate that MNS is gearing up for a stronger push on regional identity and law enforcement issues in the state.
