Pune, 26th March 2025: After a brief respite, temperatures across Maharashtra are expected to soar once again in the coming days. Weather experts predict that the mercury will climb further before a slight dip towards the end of March, though Pune is unlikely to see any relief in the form of pre-monsoon showers.

Several parts of Maharashtra recorded significantly high temperatures on Tuesday. Akola topped the charts with a scorching 41.4°C, while Koregaon Park and Jalgaon saw temperatures rise to 40.3°C. Lohgaon followed closely at 39.6°C, with Malegaon recording 39.2°C. Shivajinagar wasn’t spared either, reaching 38.2°C.

In other regions, Solapur recorded 38.9°C, Nashik remained slightly cooler at 37.6°C, while Sangli and Satara experienced 37.3°C and 37.4°C, respectively. Even Mahabaleshwar, a known hill station, saw daytime temperatures rise to 31.8°C.

Possibility of Rain in Some Areas, But Not Pune
According to a recent update from Skymet Weather Services, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form over north interior Karnataka and Madhya Maharashtra around March 28. By March 29, this system is likely to shift towards the Konkan region, accompanied by a north-south trough along the coast. This could lead to light rainfall in parts of Madhya Maharashtra on March 30 and 31.
