15-Year-Old Boy Stabbed to Death by Maternal Uncle in Pune’s Narhe Area
Narhe, 29th March 2025: A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his uncle over a minor dispute in the Narhe area on Sinhagad Road on Friday night. The accused, who initially fled after the crime, was later arrested by the Pune police.
The deceased has been identified as Gajanan Gajkosh (15), a resident of Dharavi, Mumbai, while the accused is Medhanath Ashok Takse (41), a resident of Manajinagar, Narhe. A complaint in this regard was lodged by Mangesh Dattatray Oval (31), the accused’s brother-in-law and a resident of Krishnanagar, Narhe.
According to Sinhgad Road police, Gajanan had come to stay with his uncle Meghnath in Narhe. On Friday night, he got into an argument with Meghnath’s son. The dispute escalated, leading to Meghnath brutally beating Gajanan with a belt. In a fit of rage, he then stabbed the boy in the chest with a kitchen knife, causing severe injuries. Gajanan was immediately rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries before treatment could begin.
After receiving information about the crime, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam visited the crime scene. The Sinhagad Road police arrested Meghnath late at night. Preliminary investigations indicate that the murder was the result of a minor altercation.
The case is being investigated under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Dilip Daingde.
