Pune Lawyer Clears MPSC Judicial Exam In First Attempt, Becomes Judge
Pune, 31st March 2025: Advocate Ashish Borkar from the prestigious ILS Law College, Pune, has successfully cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s (MPSC) Civil Judge and First Class Judicial Magistrate (JMFC) Examination 2022 in his very first attempt. His remarkable achievement has brought pride to the legal fraternity.
The competitive examination, which saw participation from thousands of lawyers across the state, was conducted in three phases: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and the interview round. Borkar’s consistent performance throughout these stages earned him the judicial position.
Borkar completed his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from ILS Law College, Pune, and later pursued his Master of Laws (LLM) in Constitutional Law from Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune. Following his academic journey, he began his legal practice under the mentorship of senior advocate Hemant Shinde at the Pune District and Sessions Court. With six years of legal practice experience, Borkar simultaneously prepared for the JMFC exam, driven by his ambition to excel in the judiciary.
Speaking about his success, the newly appointed judge emphasized the importance of determination and hard work. He encouraged aspiring students to maintain confidence, adopt a positive mindset, and stay persistent in their efforts. “There is no substitute for hard work in competitive exam preparation. With clear goals, meticulous planning, and relentless dedication, success is inevitable,” he added further.
