Pune, 3rd April 2025: A shocking incident has emerged from Pune’s Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, where Tanisha Bhise, the wife of BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe’s personal assistant Sushant Bhise, allegedly died due to negligence by the hospital administration. The incident has sparked outrage, with political leaders criticizing the hospital’s handling of the case.
According to the family members, Tanisha Bhise was denied admission at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital unless her family paid ₹10 lakh upfront, despite already having paid ₹2.5 lakh. When the hospital refused to proceed with her treatment, the family shifted her to another hospital, where she gave birth to twin babies. However, her condition worsened, and she later passed away.
BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe called the incident “deeply unfortunate” and demanded strict action against the hospital. “Tanisha Bhise was pregnant and required immediate admission. The hospital demanded ₹10 lakh, refusing to admit her even after we offered ₹3 lakh. Even a call from the Mantralaya was ignored. She had to be moved to another hospital, where she delivered twins, but sadly, she passed away,” Gorkhe said.
Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare strongly condemned the hospital’s actions, stating, “A woman lost her life due to the insensitivity and negligence of Deenanath Hospital. The administration ignored a direct call from the Mantralaya and refused treatment. The hospital continues to function recklessly despite multiple complaints, and this would not be possible without political backing.”
Meanwhile, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital has announced an internal investigation into the matter. Hospital spokesperson Ravi Palekar said, “We will conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a report to the state government. The information circulating in the media is incomplete, and the allegations will be investigated. At this stage, I cannot comment further.”
