Pune, 8th April 2025: A Pune-based jeweler has reportedly fallen prey to a decade-long honeytrap and extortion scheme orchestrated by a 32-year-old woman from Kedgaon. The woman allegedly blackmailed him using intimate videos and coerced him into paying over ₹27 lakh. At one point, his wife, fearing public embarrassment, advised him to sell their house to meet the demands.

According to police sources, the ordeal began in 2013 when the woman approached the jeweler under the pretense of purchasing jewelry. Over time, the professional interaction turned personal, and the relationship grew closer. She later invited him to her residence and, on another occasion, called him to her sister’s house under the guise of needing help, where he was made to stay overnight. The woman allegedly used this intimacy to trap him.

Soon after, the blackmail began. The woman allegedly threatened to release compromising videos unless he met her financial demands. Over the years, she reportedly pressured him into funding her house purchase, paying off her loans, and even covering EMIs on a ₹43 lakh property she acquired.

Unable to cope with the rising financial burden, the jeweler eventually confided in his wife. Concerned about the potential social fallout, she reportedly advised him to sell their house in Pune. The jeweler did so and handed over ₹18 lakh to the woman. He continued to pay EMIs on her behalf, totaling more than ₹27 lakh so far.

With the extortion continuing and the pressure mounting, the jeweler finally approached the police. An investigation into the case is currently underway.
