Pune: Traffic Diversions in Hinjawadi, Wakad Today for Mhatoba Maharaj Yatra Procession
Wakad, 12th April 2025: The annual Mhatoba Maharaj Yatra in Hinjawadi will feature a traditional Bagad procession today, prompting temporary traffic changes in Wakad and Hinjawadi areas. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Bapu Bangar, restrictions will be in place from 3 PM to 10 PM to accommodate the event and ensure public safety.
The yatra, a major religious celebration, is expected to attract 1.5 to 2 lakh devotees, necessitating road diversions to prevent congestion during the procession. Authorities have planned alternate routes to maintain smooth traffic flow and are seeking public cooperation to ensure an orderly event.
Traffic Arrangements for the Yatra
To facilitate the procession, several key routes will be closed or rerouted temporarily. Below are the details of the diversions:

Appeal for Cooperation
The police have urged commuters to plan their journeys using the suggested alternate routes to avoid delays. “We request citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel and adjust their travel plans to support the smooth conduct of the yatra,” said DCP Bangar. The restrictions are part of broader traffic management efforts across the city due to yatra-related activities.
For a hassle-free commute, residents are encouraged to stay updated on traffic advisories and adhere to the guidelines issued by the authorities.
