Pune: Autorickshaw Driver Booked For Obscene Act Towards Woman Passenger
Lohgaon, 12th April 2025: A woman passenger was allegedly subjected to an obscene act by an autorickshaw driver in Pune’s Lohgaon area, prompting police to register a molestation case against the absconding driver.
According to the complaint lodged at the Airport Police Station, the incident took place on 9th April around 3 pm. The complainant, a resident of Lohgaon, was on her way home when she boarded a rickshaw. While traveling along the Lohgaon–Vadgaon Shinde Road, the driver slowed the vehicle near a building and allegedly attempted to behave obscenely toward her.
Startled and frightened, the woman raised an alarm, which led the driver to stop the rickshaw abruptly. She immediately got off the vehicle, while the driver fled the scene.
The woman later approached the police and filed an official complaint, providing a physical description of the driver and the rickshaw’s registration number. A search is currently underway to trace the accused.
