Pahalgam Terror Attack: Bodies of Pune Victims Santosh Jadgale and Kaustubh Ganbote Arriving Tonight

Pune, 23rd April 2025: The mortal remains of Santosh Jadgale and Kaustubh Ganbote, the two Pune residents killed in the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir, will arrive at Pune International Airport tonight at 11:15 pm. Both victims were among the 26 people killed in the attack on Tuesday, which has shaken Maharashtra and left hundreds of tourists stranded in Jammu and Kashmir.

Upon arrival, the bodies will be kept in a hospital mortuary overnight. Early tomorrow morning, around 7:00 to 7:30 AM, the remains will be taken to their respective residences for final respects. Santosh Jadgale’s funeral procession will begin at 9:00 AM from his home in Dnyandeep Colony, near Sai Anand Park, Karve Nagar, and the last rites will be performed at Vaikunth Crematorium. Kaustubh Ganbote’s funeral will also commence at 9:00 AM from his residence opposite Salave Garden Mangal Karyalaya, Kondhwa Budruk, with cremation at the same crematorium.

State officials, including Maharashtra Minister of State Madhuri Misal, are coordinating the arrival and arrangements at Pune Airport, ensuring a dignified return for the victims and support for their grieving families. The Maharashtra Government has worked with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to expedite the repatriation of all state victims, and senior ministers are overseeing operations in both Pune and Mumbai.

The Pahalgam terror attack has been condemned nationwide, with Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assuring all possible assistance to the families and urging the swift return of stranded tourists. Security has been heightened in Pune, especially in the Karve Nagar and Kondhwa areas, as the city prepares to pay its last respects to the victims.
