Pune: Four Illegal Immigrants from Bangladesh Arrested in Kondhwa

Kondhwa, 14th June 2025: In a coordinated operation based on military intelligence, four Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in Pune were apprehended on Friday night, from a labour camp near Punyadham Ashram Road in Kondhwa. The operation was jointly conducted by the Southern Command Military Intelligence Unit and Kondhwa Police Station, Pune City police.
According to officials, the intelligence input received by Southern Command’s Military Intelligence (MI) unit revealed the presence of suspected illegal immigrants from Bangladesh at a labour camp near the Notting Hill Society in the Kondhwa area.
Acting on this input, a joint team of MI and Kondhwa Police launched a raid at the location. During the checking operation, four suspects attempted to flee the site but were swiftly intercepted and detained by the alert personnel.
Upon verification, all four individuals were found to be Bangladeshi nationals who had entered and were residing in India without valid documentation for last 3-4 months.
Their identities were established as follows:
Swapan Mandal (39), Mithun Kumar Santal (35),
Ranodhir Mandal (29) and Dilip Mondal (38), all natives of Satkhira, Bangladesh.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Kondhwa Police Station under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act. Police officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine the method of illegal entry and whether the suspects were part of a larger network facilitating such activities.
