Spiritual Wisdom Meets Education: Geeta Ashram Hosts Session for Army Public School Teachers in Pune

Pune, 14th June 2025: Geeta Ashram, Pune, conducted a thought-provoking spiritual session for teachers of Army Public School, Dighi, on Friday. The theme of the session was “Role of Spiritualism in the Education System”, aiming to inspire educators to integrate core spiritual values into their teaching practices.
The session was led by renowned speaker Priyadarshini PK, who emphasized how spiritual principles such as satya (truth), daya (compassion), dharma (righteousness), ahimsa (non-violence), and vairagya (detachment) are not only essential for personal growth but also play a crucial role in shaping students into responsible and balanced individuals.
“Spiritualism is not about rituals—it’s about becoming a good human being. Teachers have the power to mould young minds by embodying these values themselves,” said Priyadarshini PK during her address. She urged teachers to focus not just on academic results but on instilling life values in students. “Students must understand the real meaning of karma and avoid being burdened by overthinking about marks and percentages,” she added.
The session began with Amit Kasture, Chief Trustee of Geeta Ashram, offering a brief introduction about the ashram and its guiding philosophy of “Nar Seva, Narayan Seva” — the idea that serving humanity is equivalent to serving God.
A total of 110 teachers attended the session, including Principal Kavita Kadam, Vice Principal Dnyaneshwar Shinde, and Headmistress Bindu Poduval, who also coordinated the event in collaboration with Geeta Ashram.
Founded in 1998, Geeta Ashram in Khadki, Pune, is a spiritual organization inspired by the teachings of Guruji Shri Padmanabhan Krishnadasa. The ashram conducts a wide range of free activities, including bhajans, spiritual discourses, yoga and pranayama sessions, Sanskrit classes, and astrology-based guidance. It also serves as a repository of Guruji’s spiritual literature, spreading knowledge that is accessible to all.
