Pune, 27th June 2025: Passengers on multiple SpiceJet flights experienced major inconveniences over the past two days, reporting delays, malfunctioning in-flight equipment, unserved meals, and missing luggage.

On Wednesday, nearly 90 passengers on a Goa-to-Pune flight endured a frustrating wait as their flight was delayed by more than two and a half hours. To add to their discomfort, several travelers reported that their seat tray tables were broken, while others complained about not receiving the meals they had pre-booked.

Among the affected passengers was Harsh Kahate, who described the condition of the aircraft as substandard. “The tray attached to my seat was completely unusable. I had paid in advance for a non-vegetarian sandwich but was handed something else instead,” he said. Kahate explained that the flight from Mumbai arrived late in Goa, which had a domino effect on the departure to Pune.

Flight SG 1080, which was scheduled to take off at 5:20 PM from Goa, finally left around 7:52 PM. According to SpiceJet, the delay was due to a last-minute operational issue from the aircraft’s previous route and was compounded by a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued at Goa Airport. “We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers. Wear and tear of aircraft interiors can happen occasionally during operations,” a SpiceJet spokesperson stated.

Meanwhile, passengers arriving in Pune from Dubai on Thursday faced another ordeal when their checked luggage failed to arrive with the flight. Several passengers were left scrambling for answers.

“They gave us a contact number, but it doesn’t connect. We have no idea when the baggage will be delivered,” another passenger said.

The airline explained the situation in a statement: “Flight SG 52 from Dubai to Pune had to carry additional fuel due to adverse weather predictions, which resulted in certain bags being offloaded to maintain safe take-off weight. These bags are now being sent on the next available flight to Pune.”

With multiple issues in just two days, affected passengers are demanding better communication and improved service standards from the airline.
