Shivajinagar, 12th July 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised Union Minister of State and Pune MP Muralidhar Mohol, calling him “a true leader who proves himself in times of crisis,” during the inauguration of Mohol’s 24/7 public office near Loksatta office off JM Road and the launch of his first-year performance report.

The event, held at Pune’s Bal Gandharva Rangmandir, also featured the release of Pratham Manus, a book chronicling Mohol’s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Senior BJP leaders and cross-party representatives were in attendance, including BJP State President Ravindra Chavan, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal, and several MLAs and former ministers.

A Model for Public Accessibility

Speaking at the event, Fadnavis commended Mohol’s discipline, commitment, and hands-on approach to governance. “This 24/7 public contact office is a rare initiative not seen elsewhere in the country,” said the Chief Minister. “Even during the pandemic, Mohol remained connected with citizens through meticulous planning and execution. He has shown that leadership is defined by action in difficult times.”

Fadnavis further remarked on Mohol’s growing national profile, stating that after the demise of MP Girish Bapat, Mohol was unanimously chosen by party leadership. “Today, he is working closely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah personally told me that Mohol is a committed and capable leader with a promising future,” he added.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the recent inclusion of 12 forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the UNESCO World Heritage list. “This is a proud moment for Maharashtra, made possible by coordination at the state and central levels. These forts showcase not just history, but architectural brilliance,” he said.

Minister Chandrakant Patil described Mohol’s political journey as “extraordinary,” saying, “From being a first-time MP to becoming a Union Minister, his rise is something people are still trying to understand. Today, he is a national leader in his own right.”

Patil credited Mohol’s parents, his wife’s support, and BJP’s leadership for enabling this rise. “He has proven himself at every stage and continues to deepen public engagement through Janata Darbars and outreach programmes across Pune,” he said.

In his address, MP Mohol said the past year was driven by the mandate given by Pune’s citizens. “This 24/7 office is aimed at providing seamless access to government schemes. We’ve also compiled our year’s work into a report, in keeping with the BJP’s tradition of transparency,” he said.

Mohol added that during the pandemic, he stayed connected with the public for 28 months through social media, and Pratham Manus documents those experiences. “My commitment is to ensure Pune emerges as a model city, and I will continue to prioritize work in my home constituency,” he said.

He also revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a post-swearing-in meeting with new ministers, seeking detailed updates on their departments. “That same day, a roof collapse occurred at Delhi Airport. PM Modi noticed that I had arrived late by two-and-a-half hours. This shows the level of attentiveness and accountability at the Centre,” he shared.

Minister Madhuri Misal said that the broad participation across political and social sectors was a recognition of Mohol’s work. “During COVID-19, his efforts were extraordinary. The new office will ensure citizens get direct, 24-hour access to their MP. Mohol’s political career proves that even a grassroots worker can rise through merit. He represents the public’s trust,” she said.

The event concluded with appreciation from various community leaders and party workers, acknowledging Mohol’s growing stature in national politics and his unwavering commitment to public service.
