Pune: Rape Case Registered Against BJP Leader Prafulla Lodha in Bavdhan; Victim Alleges False Job Promise
Bavdhan, 22nd July 2025: A rape and intimidation case has been registered against BJP leader Prafulla Lodha at Bavdhan police station following a complaint by a 36-year-old woman from Kothrud. Lodha, who already faces atrocity-related cases at Andheri MIDC and Sakinaka police stations in Mumbai, is currently in the custody of Mumbai Police.
According to Bavdhan Police, the complainant alleged that Lodha had called her to a hotel in Balewadi on the evening of May 27, 2025, under the pretext of helping her husband secure a job. The woman has accused Lodha of forcibly engaging in sexual intercourse with her against her will.
The woman approached Bavdhan police station on July 17 to file the complaint. Based on her statement, a case has been registered under relevant sections for rape and criminal intimidation.
“Lodha is currently in the custody of Mumbai Police. We will initiate the necessary procedure to take his custody for further investigation,” said Senior Police Inspector Anil Vibhute of Bavdhan Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad Police.
The case is being investigated by Police Sub-Inspector Neelima Jadhav.
