Pune: Spy Camera Used to Record Wife’s Bathing Videos, Class One Officer Booked
Ambegaon, 22nd July 2025: In a disturbing case of domestic abuse and digital voyeurism, a Class One government officer from Pune district’s Ambegaon taluka has been booked for allegedly spying on his wife, recording private videos using hidden cameras, and blackmailing her into paying ₹1.5 lakh towards his car and EMIs.
Shockingly, both the accused and the victim are Class One officers serving in different government departments. The 30-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Ambegaon police station, accusing her husband and six of his family members of continuous mental and physical harassment since their marriage in 2020.
According to the FIR, the husband secretly installed spy cameras inside their home to record his wife’s private and intimate moments, including while she was bathing. He later threatened to leak the videos online unless she brought money from her family to cover his car-related expenses.
The victim also stated that the abuse worsened due to constant suspicion over her character, and she had endured humiliation and emotional torture throughout their marriage.
Seven Booked in the Case
The police have registered a case against seven individuals, including the husband, his mother, father, brother, and other relatives under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act. The charges include criminal intimidation, harassment, invasion of privacy, and extortion.
