Pimpri-Chinchwad, 25th July 2025: In a shocking incident at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), a local MLA’s personal assistant (PA) appeared to issue a veiled threat to a senior officer while using seemingly polite language. The PA told the officer, “Don’t give me chocolate, I have sugar,” implying that if the requested work wasn’t completed, there would be consequences.

The incident took place on Thursday at the PCMC administrative building. The PA, representing a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Pimpri-Chinchwad, visited the office of a Joint Commissioner. He presented a file containing requests related to employee transfers and certain administrative matters. While the officer responded positively and assured action, even stating “this will happen”, the interaction took a turn as the PA left.

Before leaving, the PA said, “You are saying yes to everything, that’s good. But don’t just give me chocolate, I have sugar.” While the comment may seem harmless at first glance, its underlying message was interpreted as a threat, essentially warning the officer not to make empty promises and to follow through on commitments, or face consequences.

The PCMC administration is taking the matter seriously. The fact that a high-ranking official, who has cleared tough exams like the UPSC and MPSC and gained years of administrative experience, can be pressured by a local politician’s assistant has raised concern. It highlights the extent of political interference in civic administration.

Many within the municipal setup have expressed disappointment, noting that such pressure tactics undermine the dignity and independence of civil servants. Attempts to contact the local MLA or the PCMC administration for comment were unsuccessful.
