Pune: MNC Delays Joining After Job Offer; Labour Commission Ensures Immediate Onboarding
Pune, 28th July 2025: In a significant win for IT employees facing offer delays, a Pune-based female tech professional has finally been onboarded by a top multinational company (MNC) after repeated postponements — thanks to intervention by the Forum for IT Employees (FITE) and the Labour Commission.
According to a statement shared by FITE on social media, the woman had received an offer from a prominent MNC but experienced multiple delays in her joining date, despite waiting patiently for weeks. With no clarity from the company’s HR department, she approached the forum for help.
FITE promptly took up the matter with the Labour Office. Following official communication, the HR department of the company was contacted, and swift action was taken under the guidance of Additional Labour Commissioner Nikhil Walke.
“The company agreed to onboard the employee immediately as per the original offer letter date,” FITE said in its statement, adding, “We thank Walke Sir for his prompt and just action.”
FITE also urged IT employees to report similar incidents. “Let’s not suffer in silence,” the forum posted, encouraging professionals to come forward if they face undue delays or harassment after receiving offer letters.
The case highlights growing concerns over delayed onboarding by IT companies, an issue that has affected thousands of jobseekers in recent years amid economic uncertainties and shifting hiring practices.
