Pimpri, 16th August 2025: A state-of-the-art Robotics Lab was inaugurated at Pimpri-Chinchwad Science Park on Independence Day, jointly set up by Leadership for Equity (LFE) and Robotex India. The initiative aims to give students hands-on experience in robotics, electronics, programming, and AI, helping them sharpen problem-solving skills and creative thinking.

Inaugurating the facility, PCMC commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “The Robotics Lab will not only teach technology but also provide a platform for students to innovate, solve problems, and gain confidence to participate in the future economy.”

The Science Park already houses a Computer Science Coding Lab, where school students have been learning block coding and building projects. “The new Robotics Lab will give them deeper exposure to robotics and programming, enabling them to innovate and expand their horizons,” said Damini Mainkar, COO, LFE.

Students will also be trained for robotics competitions such as the Entrepreneurship Challenge, Line Follower, Maze Solver, and Girls’ Fire Fight. “These contests will enhance technical skills, teamwork, and leadership qualities,” noted Manisha Sawant, operations head, Robotex India.

To ensure continuity, teacher training programmes will be conducted so that selected schoolteachers can guide students even after workshops end. “This will ensure long-term impact,” said Dr Shraddha Khapriya, CEO, Science Park.

Other dignitaries present at the launch included Pravin Tupe, founding director of Science Park, and Madhukar Reddy Banuri, founder & CEO of LFE.
