Pune, 18th August 2025: With Ganeshotsav just a few days away, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced measures to ensure smooth celebrations, including pothole-free roads, cleaned public toilets, and enhanced safety at immersion ghats.
In a meeting of department heads, PMC Additional Commissioner MJ Pradeep Chandran and Prithviraj B.P. outlined plans for repairing damaged and uneven footpaths, making streets in the Peths and other key areas safe for devotees. Public toilets will be cleaned three times daily, and 400 to 500 mobile toilets will be provided at various locations across the city.
The immersion ghat will also undergo cleaning, with electric lights, generators, and CCTV cameras installed to enhance safety. Ganesh idols less than six feet tall will be collected in collaboration with voluntary organizations to manage the immersion process efficiently.
Additionally, a joint meeting of the PMC and the Pune Police Commissioner has been scheduled at Balgandharva Rangmandir on Tuesday at 12 noon. Ganesh Mandals from across the city have been invited to discuss arrangements and coordination for the festival.
The PMC has emphasized that all measures are being taken to ensure that devotees can celebrate Ganeshotsav safely and without inconvenience.
