Mulshi, 19th August 2025: The discharge from Mulshi Dam into the Mula River will be increased by 5,000 cusecs, taking the total release to 10,600 cusecs from 1 pm today, Tata Power officials announced.

According to Suresh Kondubhairi of Tata Power, Mulshi Dam is currently 96.50% full and the water level is rising rapidly due to continuous rainfall in the catchment areas. The water release from the spillway has been increased as a precautionary measure.

Authorities have warned that if rainfall intensifies or river levels fluctuate, the discharge may be adjusted further, either increased or reduced, depending on the situation.

Tata Power has appealed to citizens not to enter the riverbed. Residents in low-lying areas along the Mula River have been urged to remain vigilant, move any materials or livestock away from the riverbed, and take necessary safety precautions.

The notice emphasized that public cooperation is crucial to avoid accidents during this period of high water discharge.

Meanwhile, the ongoing discharge of 6508 cusecs from Panshet Dam into the riverbed will be increased to 7244 cusecs from 2 PM through the spillway and 600 cusecs through the power generation plant, for a total of 7844 cusecs.
