Pune: Eco-Friendly Home Ganesh Decoration Contest Announced by PMC
Pune, 26th August 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched an eco-friendly home Ganesh decoration competition aimed at promoting sustainable celebrations during Ganeshotsav. The initiative encourages citizens to design their home Ganesh decorations in a manner that pleases Lord Ganesha while being environmentally responsible.
Participants can win attractive cash prizes, with the first prize set at ₹75,000, the second at ₹50,000, and the third at ₹25,000. The competition is organized under the Maharashtra State Government’s eco-friendly Ganesh festival campaign and in collaboration with PMC’s “PMC CARE” platform.
Residents interested in participating must register online by scanning the QR code provided by PMC. After registering, participants are required to upload photos of their home Ganesh decorations to the competition section of the PMC Care app.
Officials emphasized that the contest aims to spread awareness about eco-friendly practices and to reduce environmental pollution caused by non-biodegradable decoration materials. The campaign reflects PMC’s commitment to blending cultural traditions with environmental conservation.
