Nanded to the US: Sunil Deshmukh’s Global Journey Inspires

He was speaking while unveiling Videshmukhi, the inspiring autobiography of Sunil Deshmukh — Global Chair Emeritus – IMA USA, Global Corporate Leader, Independent Director, Executive and Leadership Coach, Author and Keynote Speaker. Sunil Deshmukh is the First Indian / Asian to be the Global Chairman of IMA USA in 105 years of history.
The book launch took place at the MCCIA’s Navalmal Firodia Hall on Senapati Bapat Road, Pune, where Firodia shared his reflections on India’s evolving identity as a knowledge powerhouse.
Videshmukhi traces Deshmukh’s extraordinary journey from a modest childhood in Nanded to reaching the pinnacle of professional recognition as the Global Chair of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA.
Speaking at the event, Deshmukh said, “Life tested me many times, but I never allowed myself to be defeated. Each struggle became a stepping stone.” His autobiography is both a personal reflection and a guidebook of resilience, global exposure, and the power of education.
Firodia praised Deshmukh’s story as a beacon for the younger generation. “Youngsters must step out, explore, and widen the horizons of knowledge. India should not only learn from the world but also teach the world,” he said, emphasizing that Deshmukh’s journey is proof of confidence and perseverance.
Adding to the celebration, Dr. Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, commended Deshmukh as “a man who reached the world stage without losing touch with his roots. From a small town in Maharashtra to global leadership, his story shows that success and humility can go hand in hand.”
Renowned IT expert and author Dr. Deepak Shikarpur urged that inspirational stories like Videshmukhi be taken beyond books into podcasts, audiobooks, and digital platforms, ensuring they reach a wider, younger, and global audience.
Publisher Sushrut Kulkarni of Amaltas Books and Deshmukh’s wife Madhuri were present at the launch, adding a warm personal touch to the event.
The evening concluded with Deshmukh expressing gratitude to his mentors, colleagues, and family. “I dedicate this book to those who walked with me during the hardest times,” he said, receiving a heartfelt ovation.
