Pune: PMC Commissioner Alerts Citizens About Fake Facebook Account Impersonating Him
Pune, 5th September 2025: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram has warned citizens about a fake Facebook account created in his name to mislead people on social media.
In a public message issued on Friday, Ram said, “Dear friends, I was told that someone has opened a fake account in my name and is sending messages to people on social media.”
Several social media users also flagged the impersonation attempt. One user wrote, “I have also received a friend request from your fake account. He has used your photos, sir.” Another confirmed, “I didn’t respond to this fake account.”
The incident echoes a similar case from last year, when Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had to issue a warning after fraudsters misused his photo and name. At the time, Kumar had alerted people via WhatsApp status, cautioning them against money demands from such accounts.
