Pune: Over 1,000 Free Health Camps Held in Pune District Under ‘Shri Ganesha Arogyacha’ Initiative

Pune, 5th September 2025: As part of the ongoing Ganesh festival, the ‘Shri Ganesha Arogyacha’ Health Campaign 2025 has been successfully conducted across Pune district from August 27 to September 6. The initiative was launched under the vision of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and guided by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, with support from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Charity Hospital Cell Pune, and public Ganesh mandals.

The campaign, designed to promote the message “Celebrate Ganeshotsav with Health Awareness”, has witnessed the organization of over 1,000 health camps in Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and various talukas. These camps were conducted in collaboration with public Ganesh mandals, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), sub-centres, municipal councils, and municipal corporations.

Free Medical Services Offered

The health camps provided a wide range of free diagnostic and consultation services, including:
Eye check-ups
Cardiac disease screening
Diabetes and cancer testing (with a focus on women’s health)
General health check-ups
Blood tests and blood donation camps
Preventive guidance and treatment services

In addition, Ayushman health cards were issued to eligible patients to ensure access to long-term healthcare.

Thousands of men and women availed themselves of the free health facilities during the festival. The campaign received strong support from government health machinery, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY), Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), charitable hospitals, healthcare workers, NGOs, and Ganesh mandals.

Dr. Mansing Sable was appointed as the district-level coordinator for the initiative.

Officials said the campaign not only delivered essential medical care but also spread a vital message on the importance of preventive health during festive celebrations.
