Sadashiv Peth, 18th September 2025: A shocking incident has come to light in Sadashiv Peth, where six young women preparing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations were involved in a violent dispute over a trivial household matter. The Khadak police have registered a case against five of them for allegedly assaulting their roommate following an argument about cooking chicken and washing dishes.

According to police, the incident took place around 10 pm on September 14 in a one-room kitchen flat shared by the six women, all of whom had come to Pune with the dream of becoming government officers. The quarrel began when the complainant, a 23-year-old student, was accused of not cleaning the kitchen basin after cooking chicken in the afternoon.

The complainant reportedly told her roommates that she had already cleaned the basin, but the argument escalated. One of the women allegedly abused her and pushed her against the wall, after which four others joined in the assault. The complainant was slapped multiple times, kicked, and punched before she managed to escape.

She immediately dialed the emergency number 112 and alerted the police. Constable S. V. Patil from Khadak Police Station reached the spot and began an investigation.

Police officials added that the accused and the complainant had been arguing over petty issues for the past few days.

“A case has been registered against all five accused. Further investigation is going on,” a police official said.
