Pune: Hinjawadi IT Park, Wakad Traffic Under Spotlight as Police Conduct On-Ground Survey
Hinjawadi, 23rd September 2025: In a continued push to resolve traffic congestion in Hinjawadi and Wakad, petitioners of the #UnclogHinjawadiITPark campaign, Sachin Londhe and Sachin Gunale, joined Pimpri Chinchwad Police officials for a detailed review meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting, held at 11 a.m., was chaired by Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, along with Additional Commissioner of Police Sarang Avhad and DCP Vivek Patil. Senior Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) officers, including Bapu Gaikwad and Executive Engineer Sunil Pawar, also participated in the discussions, following CP Choubey’s directive for a detailed traffic survey.
Other police officials present included ACP Satish Nandurkar, PI Sonwane, and PI Thorat, who joined the on-ground inspections.
As part of the review, the team visited ten major traffic choke points:
Wakad-Hinjawadi Bridge
Savata Mali Temple (near Hinjawadi Bridge)
Hinjawadi Indian Oil Petrol Pump Chowk
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk
Bhujbal Chowk
Phoenix Mall Road
Western Avenue Society area
Missing Link Road (near Phoenix Mall)
Kala Khadak Signal
Dange Chowk
At each location, traffic bottlenecks were assessed, and potential solutions were discussed.
During the visit, CP Choubey also attended the Navratri Mahotsav Puja at Western Avenue Society, following an invitation extended by the society’s Chairman, Sudharkar Diwan, and Godbole. Residents expressed gratitude to the police for responding promptly to their request.
