Pune Sub-Registrar Launches Pre-Scrutiny Drive for Deemed Conveyance Cases from September 27

Pune, 26th September 2025: In an effort to speed up the disposal of cooperative housing societies’ deemed conveyance cases, the Sub-Registrar’s office will conduct a pre-scrutiny drive from Saturday to Wednesday (September 27–30). The initiative is part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada campaign.

During the drive, officials will scrutinize documents, resolve doubts and queries of societies, and finalize deemed conveyance fees.

District Deputy Registrar Santosh Hingane said the Pune City Sub-Registrar’s office has introduced the pre-scrutiny system to prevent delays in processing cases. Societies will be able to approach the office before the Cooperation Department issues the deemed conveyance order and the draft deed is finalized.

Under the Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act, 1963, cooperative housing societies where the landowner or developer has not executed a sale deed for the land and building can secure deemed conveyance through the competent authority.

However, many societies face delays due to missing documents or lack of awareness, which further postpones the finalization of stamp duty, registration of the conveyance deed, inclusion of the society’s name on the property card, and redevelopment work. “This drive will help societies overcome these hurdles and streamline the process,” Hingane explained.

Registration Mandatory Before September 26
The pre-scrutiny drive will be held from September 27 to 30 at the Sub-Registrar Class I office, located behind Photozinko Press. Societies can meet officers between 10:30 am and 5:30 pm. Officials aim to scrutinize the documents of 25–30 societies daily.

Name and address of the society
Names of three office bearers who will participate
Contact numbers
