Pune: Woman Dies After Dumper Hits Two-Wheeler at Wagholi’s Wagheshwar Mandir Chowk
Wagholi, 29th September 2025: A 45-year-old woman died on the spot when her two-wheeler was hit by a dumper at Wagheshwar Mandir Chowk on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bharati Prakash Dethe, a resident of Vishrantwadi.
According to police, Bharati was riding her two-wheeler around 8 am when the dumper, turning towards Bhavdi Road, struck her vehicle. The impact caused her to fall directly under the rear wheels of the dumper, resulting in fatal injuries.
Police officer Dattatreya Gore registered a case against the dumper driver, Himmat Jalindar Karke, 42, a resident of Wagholi. The police contacted the victim’s family after noting the number plate of her two-wheeler.
This is the second serious accident reported in the area within the last fifteen days. On September 13, a 19-year-old man, Rohit Kumar Arun Barnaval, died in a collision with a private bus on the Pune-Nagar highway.
Citizens paid tribute to Bharati by lighting candles near the statue of Chhatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj in Wagholi, mourning the tragic loss.
