Mercury Rises in Pune as Rains Take a Break; IMD Predicts Further Increase in Temperature
Pune, 11th October 2025: After several days of intermittent rainfall, the city is now experiencing a noticeable rise in temperature, with the mercury crossing 33 degrees Celsius in many parts. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the heat will intensify further over the next four to five days.
On Friday (October 10), the maximum temperature reached 33 degrees Celsius in Lohgaon and Koregaon Park, while Shivajinagar recorded 32.8 degrees and Magarpatta touched 32 degrees Celsius. IMD officials stated that the maximum temperature in the city could climb up to 34 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
While daytime heat has increased, a slight dip has been observed in the minimum temperature. According to IMD data, Pune is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday (October 11).
The brief pause in monsoon showers has led to warm and dry conditions across Pune and its suburbs, leaving residents feeling the heat after several weeks of cloudy and humid weather.
IMD officials have advised citizens to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the afternoon sun, as the temperature is expected to remain high until the next spell of rainfall.
