Pune, 16th October 2025: A young man working in London has claimed that he lost his job due to a college in Pune, sparking widespread attention on social media. The video he posted explaining his situation has been viewed by millions, drawing mixed reactions online.

Prem Birhade, the youth in question, said he had secured a job in London. However, during the candidate verification process, the company contacted his college in Pune for confirmation. According to Birhade, the college, Modern College of Commerce and Arts, responded that he was not a student there, leading to his dismissal.

“It is not just my job, but the struggle of me, my parents, teachers, and society over several years,” Birhade said in the video. He added that the university had provided two recommendations for him during the application process, but he was still rejected. “They did not like the fact that we were moving forward,” he claimed.

Birhade further recounted the challenges he faced when trying to clarify the matter with his college. “I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and called the madam. She said I was not coming to the college regularly. But if that was the case, how did the college recommend me twice as a good student to the university?” he questioned.

The youth also alleged that caste-based discrimination played a role in the college’s response. He showed all his relevant documents in the video to support his claim.
