Wego Review: Is It Really the Best App for Cheap Flights in India?

Putting Wego to the Test

To see how Wego fares against Indian travel heavyweights, we ran a small price comparison across three routes: Pune–Delhi, Pune–Bangalore, and Pune–Kuwait, on the same day and time frame, comparing Wego with MakeMyTrip and Ixigo.

The results were surprisingly consistent. Across all three routes, Wego offered slightly lower fares, ranging from 3% to 5.5% cheaper than both MakeMyTrip and Ixigo.

While these may seem like small differences, for frequent flyers or families booking multiple tickets, those savings quickly add up.

For instance:

• On Pune–Delhi, Wego was about ₹275 cheaper (5.5%) than competitors.

Transparent About Fees

One of the standout aspects of Wego’s pricing model is its clarity about fees and taxes. Many travel apps show lower prices initially, only to add service charges or convenience fees at the final payment screen. Makemytrip and Ixigo are certainly not immune to this.

Wego, on the other hand, lists the total cost upfront and keeps the price identical from search to payment page. This level of transparency builds trust and helps travelers avoid last-minute surprises. For budget-conscious flyers, knowing exactly what they will pay before checkout makes a real difference.

User Experience and Features

Beyond pricing, Wego’s app interface is clean and lightweight. The search loads fast, with real-time fare updates and minimal clutter.

For iPhone users, Wego has also introduced a visually stunning “Liquid Glass” interface for iOS 26, recently featured on the App Store for its futuristic and fluid design.

The feature enhances user interaction with subtle motion effects and dynamic transparency, giving the app a premium feel while maintaining its trademark simplicity. Wego’s biggest strength lies in transparency and consistent value. It does not promise massive discounts but quietly saves users a few hundred rupees per booking without gimmicks. Based on our test, it is certainly among the most cost-effective and user-friendly options, especially for travelers who care more about real savings and seamless booking than reward points or flashy offers.
