IMD Issues Thunderstorm and Rain Alert for Pune, Raigad, and Ratnagiri Districts
Pune, 21st October 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a short-term weather alert for Pune, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the next three hours.
According to the alert issued by the Ministry, winds are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 40 to 60 kmph in some areas, along with lightning and thunder activity. Citizens have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period.
The IMD has urged residents to avoid open spaces, refrain from sheltering under trees during lightning, and stay indoors wherever possible.
