Pune, 23rd October 2025: In a case that has stirred political tensions ahead of the upcoming local body elections, Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader and former MLA Ravindra Dhangekar has made serious allegations against BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol regarding the controversial sale of land belonging to the Seth Hirachand Nemchand Jain Boarding in Model Colony, Pune.

The dispute, which involves accusations and counter-accusations between the two leaders, has created friction between Shiv Sena (Shinde) and the BJP, both key partners in the Mahayuti alliance.

Dhangekar’s Social Media Post
Taking to social media, Dhangekar shared a photo of Balasaheb Thackeray and reiterated that party chief Eknath Shinde has not taken action against Shiv Sainiks who raised their voices against perceived injustices. “Shiv Sena is a party that runs on the thoughts of the venerable Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. I am confident that Eknath Shinde will continue to support us in fighting injustice,” Dhangekar wrote.

He further stated that he would not back down, saying, “My fight will continue until the transaction of looting the temple of Lord Mahavir and the Jain boarding place is canceled and action is taken against the person who burdened the debt on the idol of Lord Mahavir. No matter the conspiracies or personal cost, I, Ravindra Dhangekar, will not back down. Punekar is with me, and I will continue this fight.”

Background of the Issue
The controversy centers around allegations by Raju Shetty, president of Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana, that some trustees illegally sold the land of Seth Hirachand Nemchand Jain Boarding, which is under a public charitable trust, to Gokhale builder.

Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol has also been accused of involvement in this transaction, sparking widespread protests. On October 19, members of the Jain community staged a large march to the District Collector’s Office in Pune, demanding accountability. Representatives from multiple political parties supported the protest, reflecting strong public backlash against the sale.
