Pune: PMC Announces Recruitment for 169 Junior Engineer Posts; Last Date to Apply October 31
Pune, 23rd October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced recruitment for Junior Engineer (Class 3) positions, offering candidates a chance for permanent employment in the municipal service. The civic body has released a revised recruitment advertisement following the introduction of new social and parallel reservation categories.
According to PMC Additional Commissioner M. J. Pradeep Chandran, the recruitment process has been carefully scheduled to avoid delays due to the election code of conduct. Interested candidates can submit their applications online by October 31 through the official PMC website — https://www.pmc.gov.in/b/recruitment.
This recruitment drive includes 169 permanent posts for Junior Engineers. The application window opened on October 1, and the last date to apply is October 31. The process will be entirely online, including form submission, document upload, and fee payment. Applicants must scan and upload their educational qualifications, experience certificates, and other required documents.
As per the Maharashtra government’s decision dated February 27, 2024, a 10 percent reservation for the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) has been implemented. Due to this, the number of posts has been revised, and a new reservation structure has been announced. Candidates who had previously applied under the old advertisement do not need to reapply. However, if they choose to submit a fresh application, their earlier one will be automatically cancelled.
Officials said the city’s rapid expansion and the inclusion of several new villages within PMC limits have increased the demand for engineering staff. With the civic body’s annual budget now touching ₹12,000 crore, the addition of junior engineers is seen as a step toward strengthening infrastructure and urban development work.
