Pune: Three Arrested for Vandalising Shop, Creating Panic in Kondhwa Area
Kondhwa, 23rd October 2025: The Kondhwa Police have arrested three youths for allegedly vandalising shops and terrorising residents by brandishing sharp weapons in the Mithanagar area of Kondhwa. The incident took place just days before Diwali, causing panic among local traders and residents.
The arrested accused have been identified as Hamza Khan (20), Fida Khan (20), and Shahrukh Sheikh (18). A case has also been registered against their accomplices who are currently absconding. The complaint was lodged by Sameer Mohammad Yusuf Sheikh (47), a resident of Mithanagar, Kondhwa, at the Kondhwa Police Station.
According to Senior Police Inspector Kumar Ghadge, the incident occurred on October 20 around 7.30 pm, when the accused arrived in the Mithanagar area armed with sharp weapons. They reportedly kicked the shutters of shops, broke the LED board of a chicken shop, and smashed a television set placed outside a junk shop. The gang’s actions created an atmosphere of fear, forcing shopkeepers to close their establishments.
Police teams quickly responded and managed to arrest the three accused while some of their accomplices fled the spot. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS for vandalism, criminal intimidation, and creating public disorder.
The investigation into the case is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Kharade of Kondhwa Police Station.
