Pune, 26th October 2025: The ongoing dispute over the controversial sale of land belonging to HND Jain boarding in Model Colony, Pune, has intensified, with former MLA Ravindra Dhangekar alleging that Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol was warned by senior BJP leaders to “either save the Jain temple or lose his ministerial post.”

For the past two weeks, Dhangekar has been posting a series of allegations against Mohol on social media, accusing him of being linked to the land transaction. On Saturday, Mohol visited the Jain boarding to meet the trustees. However, his visit took a dramatic turn when a section of Jain community members raised slogans against him.

Mohol attempted to pacify the crowd, but as tensions escalated, he left the venue. Responding to the incident, Dhangekar tweeted that Mohol’s sudden visit and apology were prompted by instructions from senior BJP leaders during his trip to Mumbai.

“During his Mumbai visit, senior BJP leaders told Murlidhar Mohol that he must save the Jain temple or his ministerial post. That is why he bowed before the Jain Muni in a hurry,” Dhangekar alleged. He further added, “For 18 days, the MP of Pune remained silent while the Jain community suffered.”

Dhangekar accused Mohol of benefiting personally from the land deal, saying, “He took this land to profit his own company. Now, with what face can he say he is canceling the transaction? May God give him the wisdom to return the land seized from the Jain temple.”

Reacting to the controversy, Murlidhar Mohol said that the slogan-shouting at the site was instigated by someone intentionally. “The Jain Muni told me they need my support since I am Pune’s MP. If I were involved in the land purchase, they would not have called me there,” Mohol clarified.

He added that he plans to hold discussions with all concerned partiesincluding the trustees and those involved in the transactionto find an amicable solution in the coming days.
