Pune, 26th October 2025: Former MLA Ravindra Dhangekar has demanded the cancellation of the controversial Jain boarding transaction, citing alleged involvement of Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol. Dhangekar, in a tweet on Saturday, stated that he has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging a strict investigation into the matter.

“I would like to inform all Punekars that today, on behalf of all of us, I am requesting the Prime Minister to cancel the Jain boarding transaction and conduct a thorough investigation,” Dhangekar said. He added that starting October 27, he will sit on an indefinite dharna at the Jain boarding along with citizens until the transaction is annulled.

In his letter, Dhangekar detailed what he described as “the entire sequence of events” surrounding the case and claimed that multiple individuals and institutions involved in the transaction have direct connections with Murlidhar Mohol. He demanded that Mohol resign from his ministerial post, stating that an impartial investigation is impossible while Mohol holds office.

“Strict action should be taken against those usurping temple and shrine lands, and this inquiry can only be fair if Mohol steps down from his Union Ministership,” he said.

Copies of the letter have been sent not only to the Prime Minister but also to the Home and Cooperation Ministers, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and the Deputy Chief Minister. Dhangekar urged these authorities to use their powers to cancel the transaction immediately and ensure a full investigation.
